In 2016 the series will be held at North Mecklenberg Park in Huntersville and at Rocky Branch Trail in Belmont.
North Mecklenburg park information
North Mecklenburg Park is located at 16131 Old Statesville Rd, Huntersville, NC 28078
Take Exit 25 off I-77 North
Turn onto Sam Furr Road/ Hwy 73 (right if traveling north on I-77 and left if traveling south on I-77)
Turn right on Old Statesville Road/ Hwy 115.
The Park will be on your right.
We will have three courses at North Meck. You can go out and ride the course any time, the park is open at your leisure. Simply stay on the green marked trail. The course will be open for pre-riding on race day. Just like the adult races, we suggest you have your racer pre-ride the course before the race.
Racers 6 and under will race on course A.
Race Course “A” is a 50 yard loop in the grass, safely designed for kids under 6 years old. The course will not have obstacles such as roots or rocks. The course will be built with pennant flagging and will be spectator friendly.
Racers 7-10 will race on course B.
Race Course “B” is a 1.7 mile loop on the singletrack trail at North Meck. This course is a deviation from the normal trail as it will not use the back section of the trail. We will be turning the racers around right before the big creek crossing. Race participants will encounter mild rocks and roots on the race course. Click on the map to view large version.
9 to 10 – 3 laps on short 1.7 mile course – 5.1 miles – 25 to 40 min
North Meck Course C
Racers 11-14 will race on course C.
Race Course “C” is the full 3.5 mile loop on the singletrack trail at North Meck. Race participants will encounter mild rocks and roots on the race course.
11 to 12 – 2 laps on full 3.5 mile course – 7 miles – 35 to 50 min
13 to 14 – 2 laps on full 3.5 mile course – 7 miles – 35 to 50 min
Rocky Branch Trail information
Rocky Branch Trail is located at 221 Woodrow Ave. Belmont NC
Racers 6 and under will race on a track in the grass at the front of the site for 1-3 laps.
Racers 7-10 will race on a 1.2 mile loop mainly on the North loop of the trail system. 7-8 year-olds do 2 laps, and 9-10 year-olds do 3 laps.
Racers in 11-12 and 13-14 categories will race the entire trail with some black diamond sections being avoided. One lap is approximately 3 miles. Both categories will do two laps.
